Why we chose Salient Bio
We carefully considered the laboratory behind our testing because the quality of a preventative health service ultimately depends on the quality of the testing that supports it.
Salient Bio operates its own laboratory in London and is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for specified testing activities.
ISO/IEC 17025 is an internationally recognised standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. For us, this provides an important layer of confidence that the laboratory processes supporting our testing are subject to appropriate quality and competency requirements.
Salient Bio is also a specialist in microbiome science, using advanced molecular techniques including shotgun metagenomic sequencing for microbiome analysis.

Your sample is sent securely to Salient Bio's London laboratory, where the relevant laboratory analysis is performed.
Results
Once testing is complete, the results are securely returned to Previtro so that we can provide them to you as part of your Previtro experience.
Advanced science, made accessible
Some of the most interesting developments in preventative health are happening at the molecular level.
The microbiome—the community of microorganisms living in and on our bodies—is one area where scientific understanding is developing rapidly.
Salient Bio uses metagenomic sequencing to analyse microbiome samples. Unlike approaches that look only for a small number of pre-selected organisms, shotgun metagenomic sequencing can provide a much broader view of the microbial community present in a sample.
This can allow us to look beyond a single result and towards patterns within the wider biological picture.
At Previtro, our role is to make that information easier to understand and, where appropriate, turn it into practical preventative health conversations.
